Conrad Stolz!

MAKING HIS 2009 XTERRA DEBUT IN NEVADA AT RED ROCK RUNNING COMPANY

Conrad Stoltz, a Balega sponsored athlete, three time World Champion of the Xterra series of off-road triathlon races, five time Xterra USA Series Champion, and two time Olympian, will be making an appearance at Red Rock Running Company Thursday, April 30th from 4:30pm – 6:30pm to meet, greet and say a few words about his training, racing and life as a professional athlete.

Balega International is grateful to have Conrad on their team. Balega is an American-South African initiative, much like Conrad Stoltz himself who hails from South Africa but feels at home in America too. Conrad spends half the year in his homeland of South Africa and then comes to the United States, his second home, to race in many of the multi-sport events here.

Conrad will begin his 2009 campaign with the Xterra Western Regional Championships which take place Saturday, May 2nd at Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, NV. Conrad will then focus on the remaining 7 Xterra Regional races, the U.S. Championships on September 26th in Ogden, UT and finally the World Championships on October 25th in Maui, Hawaii hopefully bringing home his fourth world title.

Conrad began competing in the multi-sport disciplines of duathlon and triathlon through his initial involvement in cycling, but became famous for his achievements in the Xterra series in 2001. This is the series that named him ‘Caveman’ owing to his impressive size and speed on the downhill sections of the mountain biking segment. He also recorded the fastest time in the cycling leg of the Olympic triathlon at the 2000 Summer Olympic Games.
